2 Nights / 3 Days: Varanasi – Khajuraho – Orchha Tour

Arrive in Varanasi (by flight or train), where our representative will warmly welcome you and escort you by private AC vehicle to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to freshen up and relax after your journey.

Later in the afternoon, proceed on an excursion to sacred Sarnath (approx. 10 km), the world-renowned Buddhist pilgrimage site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon (Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta) after attaining enlightenment. Explore the towering 43.6m-high Dhamek Stupa, ancient brick monastery foundations, the Chaukhandi Stupa, and the Sarnath Archaeological Museum housing the 3rd-century BCE Lion Capital of Emperor Ashoka—the national emblem of India.

Return to Varanasi and enjoy an authentic cycle-rickshaw ride weaving through the bustling old lanes and bazaars leading close to the holy Ganges. In the evening, witness the world-famous Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat while comfortably seated in a reserved viewing area. Watch the synchronized rituals of seven young priests holding multi-tiered burning brass lamps accompanied by rhythmic conch blowing, bells, and Vedic hymns.

After the Aarti, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

At dawn, embark on an inspiring early morning private boat ride along the sacred River Ganges. As the golden morning sun illuminates the historic 84 riverfront ghats, observe the timeless rhythm of spiritual life—devotees taking holy dips, offering morning Surya Arghya, and priests performing rituals along Dashashwamedh, Manikarnika, and Harishchandra Ghats.

Following the boat ride, undertake a short heritage city tour covering iconic Varanasi landmarks, including Kaal Bhairav and the surrounding vibrant cultural streets. Return to your hotel to relish a hearty breakfast. Check out from the hotel and drive in comfort to Varanasi Airport (Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport - VNS) to board your scheduled flight for Khajuraho (HJR).

Arrive at Khajuraho Airport, meet your private chauffeur, and transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Check in and unwind. In the evening, witness the world-acclaimed Sound and Light Show (Son-et-Lumière) at the Western Group of Temples. Set against the dramatically floodlit thousand-year-old temple facades, the show narrates the captivating legend and artistic triumphs of the great Chandela rulers.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your morning with a guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Western and Eastern Group of Temples in Khajuraho. Admire the unparalleled mastery of 10th-century medieval Indian architecture at the Western Group, featuring the grand Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, Lakshmana Temple, and Chitragupta Temple, adorned with intricate sculptures of gods, celestial maidens (apsaras), and exquisite friezes depicting every dimension of human life. Continue to the Eastern Group to explore the tranquil Jain temples, including Parsvanath and Adinath temples.

Later, depart by private AC vehicle for a scenic drive towards Jhansi, enroute visiting the charming medieval royal township of Orchha, set on the picturesque banks of the Betwa River. In Orchha, explore:

After sightseeing and lunch at Orchha, continue the short 18 km drive to Jhansi Railway Station. Board your comfortable express train (Train No. 12001/12049 or equivalent 18:25 / 20:25 hrs) bound for Agra. Arrive at Agra Cantt Railway Station at approximately 20:25 hrs, concluding an extraordinary 3-day spiritual and royal heritage tour.
